Building AI Capacity for Governance

Launched the comprehensive 10-week "Building AI Capacity for Governance" programme at the Mahatma Singh HIPA (MS-HIPA), marking a significant milestone in structured AI capacity building for the public sector. The programme was designed to provide government officials with a systematic and practical understanding of AI and its governance implications.

The curriculum spans AI fundamentals, data governance, AI risk management, procurement standards for AI systems, ethical frameworks, and practical implementation strategies. The 10-week structure allows participants to progressively build their competencies, with each module building on previous learning and incorporating real-world case studies from government AI deployments.

This programme represents a scalable model for AI capacity building that can be adapted for other states and institutions. The structured, long-format approach ensures that participants develop not just awareness but practical competencies that enable them to lead AI initiatives within their departments with confidence and responsibility.
